Euro-City has just completed extensive structural works on Herbal House, London EC2 in conjunction with McLaren Construction

Euro-City has just completed on the extensive structural works it has been carrying out on Herbal House, London EC2, in conjunction with our highly valued client McLaren Construction.

The property is steeped in history - originally constructed in 1928 for the Daily Mirror as their print press headquarters.  It has also been an artist’s studio, a backdrop for influential music videos and home to the London School of Printing.

McLaren works have taken the building to a size of 150,695 sq ft – comprising new office space and nearly 9,000 sq ft of sought after high specification residential space.

The premises is constructed of a steel frame, encased in concrete with 3 floors below ground level.  All works have included extensive internal demolition, construction of two new floors on the roof and the replacement of existing glazing and complete facade clean and repair.

Original features have been retained and refurbished meaning the heritage of Herbal House can be celebrated whilst providing a modern work and living space.
